New here? Welcome!
Whether you’ve just landed in Thailand or you’ve been calling Chiang Mai home for years, we know that finding a church community is one of the most important parts of settling in.
We are The Gathering International Church, an international family of believers in Jesus. We know what it’s like to live cross-culturally, and we want to help you find a place to belong, grow, and serve.
If you are checking us out for the first time, here is a guide to help you navigate who we are and what we do.

1. Join Us on Sunday Morning
This is the best place to start. We meet every Sunday at 10:00 AM at the Shepherd Building at Payap University.

- The Feel: Our services are casual and conducted in English, with portions translated into Mandarin Chinese. You’ll see people in jeans and t-shirts, and you’ll likely hear a mix of accents.
- The Worship: We sing mostly contemporary songs, led by various worship teams.
- The Teaching: We value the Word of God. You can expect biblically-based preaching that applies to real life.
- Visit our sermon archive to get a feel for our teaching style.
2. A Place for Your Kids
We know that if your kids aren’t happy, you can’t relax. We place a huge value on the next generation.

- Children’s Ministry: During the service, we have safe, fun, and Gospel-centered classes for infants through 5th grade.
- Youth Ministry: If you have teenagers (Middle or High School), our Youth Group is a community where they can ask hard questions and build deep friendships. We meet on the first and third Sunday of the month.
3. Connect Beyond SundaySunday is great, but real life happens in circles, not rows. Because Chiang Mai can be a transient city, we work hard to help build real connections.
- Community Groups: We believe spiritual growth happens best in circles, not just in rows. We have groups meeting throughout the week in different areas of the city from San Sai to Hang Dong. Find a group near you to connect with neighbors and grow in your faith.
- Adult Ministries: We also have specific opportunities for men and women to connect and grow together.
4. Who We Are
You probably want to know what drives us before you visit.
